The Cramer's Eighty-Eight Drops

These earrings are made from the wings of the Diaethria Clymena, also known as the Cramer’s eighty-eight. This butterfly is a part of the family Nymphalidae. The upperside of the wings are black with a blue band and the underside is red and white with black stripes that look like an outlined number “88” or “89”. The wings of the Diaethria are very unique and bring an exotic beauty to these earrings. The red hues of the wing compliment the rose gold tones of the earrings perfectly. The wings are preserved and encased in resin which brings out the vibrant colors and beautiful details of the wings. Please note, due to the fact that real butterfly wings are used, not all pieces will come out exactly as pictured. Please allow for some variation.
